Meet your local, Whanganui, mobile automotive team. At Driveology, we combine years of automotive experience with a passion for precision, ensuring your vehicle gets the care it deserves.
This innovative business is run by husband and wife team, Theo and Phillippa van de Steeg. Theo brings all the technical expertise, and Phillippa provides the office backup. Occasionally, you’ll find one of their children on a ride-along, helping Dad on-site.
One of the beauties of calling in a mobile automotive service like ours is that you’ll get to know the technician working on your vehicle. You’ll be able to put a face to his name, talk to him yourself, and even observe him at work – from a safe distance, of course. We think you’ll enjoy that personal connection and being able to get feedback about the condition of your vehicle directly from the tech who has worked on it.
Theo
Theo is a second generation, A Grade Automotive Technician who lives and breathes what he does.
Born and raised in the Netherlands, he came to New Zealand as a young adult and still has the strong accent that makes him distinctive in a crowd. He made New Zealand his home and never looked back. Theo did most of his trade training here, married a Kiwi, and is raising six children here.
Theo didn’t stop at the standard trade qualification, he kept developing professionally. He quickly discovered that automotive technology now changes at break-neck speed. So, Theo stays connected to industry groups internationally, and takes every training course that he can. He is always on the lookout for better sources of the technical information required to work on the onboard computer networks and electrical systems on modern vehicles. His oscilloscope is his trusty companion.
Theo sees tremendous potential for the industry in New Zealand to level up, across the board, and is determined to contribute to raising standards – in technician training, workshop processes, quality of work, and the customer experience.
